COVID-19 claims 11 more lives in the past 7 days in Nagaland; death toll reaches 33

Kohima, October 31 (NEx): COVID-19 pandemic has claimed 11 more lives in the past 7 days in Nagaland, updates Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department in its weekly bulletin today. State’s COVID-19 death toll rises to 33.

Among the 33 deaths reported due to COVID-19, 24 deaths are reported from Dimapur district, which is 73%. Six (6) deaths are reported from Kohima and one each from Mokokchung, Mon and Wokha district, updated the bulletin.

An update on the age groups of COVID-19 deaths in the State indicates that 60% of the deaths reported are below 60 years of age. Eight (8) deaths are among the age group between 28 – 39 years, eight (8) deaths are among 40 – 49 years, four (4) deaths among 50 – 59 years, three (3) deaths among 60 – 69 years, five (5) deaths are among 70 – 79 and another five (5) are among the age group of 80 – 89 years.

Meanwhile, total COVID-19 positive cases surpassed the 9000-mark today with 102 new cases reported today. Active cases stands at 1552.
