Coronavirus: No positive cases detected in Nagaland, 4280 people screened at Airport

Kohima, March 19 (NE): Dr. Vizolie Z Suokhrie, Principal Director, Health and Family Welfare, GoN has informed that as on 06:00pm, today, March 19, 2020 there is no positive cases of Coronavirus detected in Nagaland.

A total of 4280 people were screened at Dimapur Airport out of which 136 are under surveillance. So far, no samples were sent for testing.

Earlier today, the Special Action Group on COVID-19 under the Chairmanship of Principal Secretary and Home Commissioner Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha, IAS held an emergency meeting with various faith based organizations on March 19, 2020 at the New Secretariat Conference Hall, Kohima.

Speaking at the emergency meeting, Principal Secretary also informed that there are no positive cases detected in Nagaland and all other North Eastern States so far and that the State Government is taking all precautionary measures to control the pandemic.

He also informed that screening of passengers at Dimapur railway station and various entry points have already started besides the Airport in Dimapur.
