
Kohima, September 11 (NEx): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio called on Union minister for Civil Aviation and Housing & Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri at New Delhi, today September 11, 2020 and discussed on the proposed Chiethu Airport in the State capital, Kohima.
CM Rio in an official twitter notification said, ‘Met Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Hardeep S Puri regarding Chiethu Airport at Kohima. I am grateful to the Airport Authority of India for agreeing to prepare the DPR of the airport.’- unquote.

Union Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri, in a notification said, ‘Met Nagaland CM, Neiphiu Rio in my office, We discussed issues pertaining to civil aviation access and infrastructure in the state’ – unquote.
Paiwang Konyak, Minister of Transport, Civil Aviation and Railways earlier informed that, “in line with the national policy of having Airports in every State capital, the Nagaland government is pursuing with the Government of India for the construction of an Airport at Chiethu for the state capital Kohima.” Government of Nagaland is also in process of acquiring land at Chiethu, Ciechama under Kohima district for the airport.
