CM Neiphiu Rio reviews the Coronavirus preparedness in Nagaland

Kohima, February 4 (NE): On the wake of alerts and panic, Nagaland Chief Minister, Shri Neiphiu Rio holds review meeting on the Novel Coronavirus with the Department of Health & Family Welfare, government of Nagaland officials today, February 4, 2020.

A notification said, CM had a meeting with the Department of Health & Family Welfare and officials concerned to review the situation of Novel Coronavirus and preparedness of the State. Also, the Chief Minister urged the people of Nagaland to extend full cooperation and follow guidelines issued by the Department.

A press release on Novel Corona Virus was issued by the Health & Family Welfare Department, government of Nagaland, on Monday, February 3, which advised the public not to panic.

No coronavirus case has been reported in the State so far, said the press release issued by Principal Director of the Department, Dr. Vizolie Z. Suokhrie. None of the 33 persons, who had come to Nagaland from the affected countries, were found to have symptoms of the virus, it added.

However those coming from China have been quarantined in compliance of the existing protocol set by the Centre, it added.

The Department has sought full cooperation, particularly from those who have or will be coming from affected countries to self declare by contacting the mobile numbers – 7005435243, 9856071745 and 7005539653.
