Kohima, July 16 (NEx): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio goes into self Quarantine on his return from an official visit to New Delhi. Chief Minister will continue discharging his duties during Quarantine period, informed an official tweet from Nagaland CM.
Taking to twitter on Thursday, CM Neiphiu Rio said, ‘as a precautionary measure, I’m on self-quarantine on my return to Nagaland from Delhi. Taking precautions to ensure safety of others & myself. Will continue discharging duties.’

On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio called on Defence Minister, Government of India, Rajnath Singh at New Delhi. There was no official notification on the discussion, but sources revealed that prevailing situation between the Indian Army and Naga Political groups were discussed during the meeting.

It is pertinent to note that, Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton, Health Minister, S Pangnyu Phom, PHED Minister, Jacob Zhimomi, Soil & Water Conservation, W&CD Minister Kashiho Sangtam and MLA Dr Longrineken had undergone COVID-19 test at Delhi following the report of a driver and some staffs of Nagaland House Delhi testing positive.
The results turned negative for all the legislators from Nagaland, including Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, informed Deputy Chief Minister’s Office on Wednesday.
Also the legislators on arrival despite their negative test results will Quarantine themselves at Government quarantine centre and follow all Standard Operating Procedures and other official guidelines, it added.
