Centre government releases Rs 6195 crore to 14 states, Nagaland gets Rs. 326.41 crore to provide an additional resource during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis

Kohima, April 04 (NE): The Finance Minister, Smti Nirmala Sitharaman announced the release of Rs 6,195.08 crore on Monday, May 11, 2020, to 14 states to provide additional resources during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. Nagaland state gets Rs. 326.41 crore.

This announcement was made after the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi interacted with all the Chief Ministers of State for the fifth time through a video conference in view of COVID-19 pandemic to take stock of the state preparedness and situation.

Taking to twitter, Smti Nirmala Sitharaman said that ‘The government on May 11, 2020 released Rs 6,195.08 crore to 14 states as the second equated monthly installment of the Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant as recommended by the 15th Finance Commission.’

‘This would provide the states an additional resource during the Corona crisis’, added the Finance Minister.

Nagaland State gets Rs. 326.41 crore as grant-in-aid to cover deficit on post-devolution revenue account in 2020 – 21 as recommended by the 15th Finance Commission on proportionate basis in the month of May 2020, said the Finance Ministry on Monday.

Earlier, on April 03, 2020 Nagaland received Rs. 326.41 crore as first equate monthly installment of Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant as recommended by the 15th Finance Commission.

Along with Nagaland, Kerala received Rs 1,276 crore, Himachal Pradesh Rs 952 crore, Punjab Rs 638 crore, Assam Rs 631.58 crore, Andhra Pradesh Rs 491.41 crore, Uttarakhand Rs 423 crore, West Bengal Rs 417 crore, Manipur Rs. 235.33 cr, Meghalaya Rs 40.91 Cr, Mizoram Rs 118.53 Cr, Tripura Rs 269.66 cr, Tamil Nadu Rs. 335.41 cr and Sikkim 37.33 crore, 2020, as grant-in-aid to cover deficit on post-devolution revenue account in 2020 – 21, said the order issued by Finance Minister.
