Breaking News: Two trains of Nagaland to be diverted for Bogibeel Bridge at Assam from May, 2020

Dimapur, January 11 (NE): Bad news for Dimapur passengers going towards New Delhi & Kolkata – come May month onwards.

Yes, as per a notification exclusively to NagalandExpress (NE), it is learnt that two trains of Nagaland are planning to be totally diverted for Bogibeel Bridge, North Lakhimpur, Rangapara (Assam) from May 2020 onwards.

Though Dimapur Station is regarded second after Guwahati Railway Station in North East India region as far as revenue earning is concerned, yet another step-motherly treatment. Dimapur is also the lone Railway Station for whole Nagaland, which further caters to neighboring states including parts of Assam and Manipur of North East India besides some parts of Arunachal Pradesh for quite some time.

People are very sad on hearing the news as it is a big blow for entire Nagaland – because the passengers go to Kolkata to catch either a flight or other trains of long distance travels like towards the South, opined a social media user on the current issue.

It is being observed that this topic will remain debatable in various social media platforms for sometime. It is also to be seen what the Government of Nagaland will take up in the highest level for people of Nagaland as a whole, observed a citizen of Dimapur, after hearing this news.

The actual matter came out through a notification on January Ten and the netizens are showing their anguish even till the time of filing this report for NE from every quarter. The trains, which will be affected are the popular ones:
20505/20506 – Dibrugarh to New Delhi, a Bi-weekly Rajdhani Express train which reaches at 12:28 AM and departs after five minutes from Dimapur Railway Station.

12525/12526 – Kolkata to Dibrugarh, a Superfast Express train running weekly that reaches Dimapur station at 8:55 PM.

The said trains are planning to be totally diverted so as the journey will be more easier from Bogibeel Bridge, North Lakhimpur, Rangapara (Assam).

As per the Railway Authority, Government of India, both the trains’ diversion will take place in the first week of May, 2020. It is also to be seen what next the Railway will do inorder to let the normal passengers from Nagaland and beyond have a balance and be able to take the trains for those aforementioned destinations in the Railway map of India.
