Breaking News: ILP in Dimapur district; around 50 persons arrested as defaulters on first day

Dimapur, February 4 (NE): Yes, if everything is to be believed then Inner Line Permit (ILP) system has been finally implemented with effect from February Three at Dimapur district, which means that entire Nagaland comes under ILP zone now.

According to sources, nearly fifty persons were arrested by Dimapur Police as defaulters on the first day, February Three. As per NagalandExpress findings, people gave different comments as the ILP being put particularly in a commercial district of Nagaland. There were reasons that said, it could affect the business communities; yet others were happy on hearing about the ILP which finally implemented.

However, many were surprised, when they heard about being implemented at Dimapur suddenly. For ILP, it is learnt that the government has put a cut off date of November 21, 1979, the Non-indigenous people living in Dimapur prior to cut off date, will not require ILP; except that they will require to show documents as proof with the concerned officials. The impact of ILP in Dimapur and the number of defaulters has to be observed in the coming days.

It is important to note that official statement from Government of Nagaland in this regards is awaited and action taken against defaulters is unknown till the time of filing this report.
