'Beginning of restoring communities to wholeness & health'; CM Neiphiu Rio

Kohima, January 16 (NEx): The Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio launched the Statewide COVID-19 vaccination drive at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, today, January 16, 2021, following a virtual program for the launch of pan-India rollout of COVID-19 vaccination drive by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

‘As we join the country in the world’s largest vaccination program today, it will be the beginning of restoring communities to wholeness and health’, said Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio. CM Rio also attended the launch of pan-India rollout of COVID-19 vaccination drive by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi via a virtual conference.

Nagaland received the first batch of 26,500 doses of COVID-19 vaccine from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India for health care workers. Vaccination will be done in pre-identified health care units, both government and private, for those who have registered in CoWin portal, CM Rio stated.

Meanwhile, District wise launch programs were also held in all the districts in Nagaland. Nagaland Health Minister, S Pangnyu Phom launched the COVID-19 vaccination drive at Dimapur District Hospital in the presence of Minister for Rural Development, Government of Nagaland, Metsubo Jamir.

Necessary protocol issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, shall be followed strictly during the implementation of the vaccination, stated Pangnyu Phom. He also urged beneficiaries to follow proper guidelines issued by the competent authority.

The Minister for Higher Education & Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along who is also the Legislator incharge for Peren District COVID-19 graced the launching program of COVID-19 vaccination session held at CHC Jalukie on 16th January, 2021 in the presence of District Administration, Medical Dept., Police Personnel and Public leaders.

During the launch program, Imna Along emphasized on dissemination of proper information to the general public regarding the vaccination and also added it is the responsibility of the Medical Dept., District Administration and Public leaders to sensitise the public about this vaccination drive.

He also encouraged the public to remain indebted to the Health Care Workers and Frontline Workers for rendering their dedicated service in the fight against COVID-19 since the beginning of it’s outbreaks.
