Dimapur, September 30 (NEx): A special CBI court in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow acquitted all the 32 accused in the Babri mosque demolition case, including BJP veterans L K Advani and MM Joshi, on Wednesday.

The court said that the Babri mosque demolition was not pre-planned and there was no conclusive evidence against the accused.

The verdict in the 28-year-old case involving the demolition of Babri Masjid, which stood at the Ram Janmabhoomi site in Ayodhya was announced by special CBI judge SK Yadav. BJP veterans L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and Kalyan Singh were not present in court during the proceeding, but joined via video link.

Senior BJP leader, LK Advani wholeheartedly welcomed the significant judgment delivered by the special court in the Babri Masjid demolition case. The judgement vindicated my personal and Bharatiya Janata Party’s belief and commitment towards the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, said Advani in a statement.

Reacting to the verdict, the Defence Minister of India and senior BJP leader, Rajnath Singh welcomed the decision of the special court of Lucknow. The verdict was delayed but the Justice has been upheld, tweets Singh.
