Assam Rifles seizes smuggled items worth 6.78 crore from Dimapur – Kohima, NH 29

Kohima, February 8 (NE): Assam Rifles along with Nagaland Police recovers worth rupees 6.78 crores of smuggled Areca Nuts from Nagaland on Thursday, February 6, 2020.

Based on specific information about smuggling of contraband items, troops of Assam Rifles along with Nagaland Police, established a Mobile Vehicle Check Post in Kukidolong and Lalmati area along Dimapur – Kohima NH 29 on February 6, 2020 and seized Nine trucks carrying 2827 bags of Areca Nut (Betel Nut) amounting to Rs 6.78 crores, said a notification from ADGPI Indian Army.

Apprehended individuals along with recoveries were handed over to Custom Preventive Division, Dimapur for further investigation.
