Assam Rifles disposes off two World War – II bombs at Manipur

Kohima, February 23 (NE): The Tengnoupal Battalion of Assam Rifles disposes off unexploded Artillery shell and Mortar bomb of World War – II in Manipur on Friday, February 21, 2020.

A social media notification from Assam Rifles said, Tengnoupal Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(South) disposes off two World War – II bombs through demolition.

Unexploded Artillery shell and Mortar bomb of World War – II origin were recovered during excavation work undertaken for expansion of National Highway – 102 in Tengnoupal Police Station premises and Loisi village respectively in Manipur. As an aid to Civil Administration, Tengnoupal battalion accepted the request received from police authorities and initiated the disposal of bombs.

The police authorities of Tengnoupal expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles for rendering significant assistance, said the notification.
