Kohima, July 29 (NEx): Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, District Task Force, Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS informed of 48 hours sealing of Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat, in view of detection of 6 COVID positive cases among the staffs of NLA Secretariat.
An emergency meeting of District Task Force Kohima held today, July 29, 2020 decided to close/seal Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat for 48 hours after the detection of COVID-19 among six staffs, as per the SOP on preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 in offices issued by Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, dated June 04, 2020,
The fumigation and disinfection of the office premises has been initiated, following all health safety measures and SOPs of the Government, informed DC Kohima to the Principal Secretary, Home Department.
The proposed sealed area is mapped and cordoned off and the public and all concerned have been advised to follow all safety precautions of wearing masks all the time, frequently washing hands and maintain social/physical distances to ensure public hygiene and personal safety within the proximity of the sealed area, it stated.
As per the protocol, ahead of one day session of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, scheduled for July 30, 2020, COVID-19 test for all the Hon’ble Ministers/Advisors/MLAs and the Officers and Staff of the Assembly Secretariat, was conducted from July 26 to 28, 2020. The results for a Legislator and staffs turned positive for COVID-19.
