Kohima, July 19 (NEx): Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom has updated of six (6) new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Kohima, in which four (4) cases have been detected outside the designated Quarantine centres.
According to a report by Deputy Commissioner of Kohima & Chairman DTF, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS, among the four COVID-19 cases reported outside the designated Quarantine centre, 2 positive cases are reported at Naga Bazaar Colony (Ward – 4), One case at D Block Colony (Ward No – 6) and one at Lower Chandmari Colony (Ward No – 13).
Following this, District Task Force Kohima had an emergency meeting this afternoon and activated the relevant line department as per the Incident Response System (IRS), the detected areas has been sealed.
As per official sources, the primary contacts of the positive patients are being traced and the source of infection is yet to be confirmed at the time of filing this report. More details awaited.
Meanwhile Nagaland has reported 10 new COVID-19 positive cases today, July 19, 2020 taking the total count in the state to 988. So far 445 patients have recovered from COVID-19, and the active cases in Nagaland stands at 543.
Out of 79 samples tested, 10 positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed.
6 in Kohima, 2 in Mokokchung & 1 each in Dimapur & Longleng.
