Kohima, May 26 (NE): The online application portal for extended One-time Financial Assistance of Rs 10,000 to stranded citizens of Nagaland outside the state, who opts to stay back where they are at present, closed today, at 10:00 am.
The extended financial assistance registration form was opened for 72 hours from May 23, 2020 to May 26, 2020. A total of 15,007 applications were received during this period from the stranded citizens of Nagaland outside the state.
Principal Director of School Education and Nodal officer for stranded persons outside the state, Shanavas C IAS, informed that, though 15,007 applications were received in total, the final count of applications will be announced after checking for duplicates and wrong entries.
The total applicants would depend on the number of persons who might want to withdraw the application and come to Nagaland in government arranged transportation. The option to withdraw the application on one time assistance will be made available very soon, informed Shanavas.
A notification from official portal for the stranded citizens of Nagaland informed that processing for one-time assistance (23 – 26 May) will start from June 01, 2020 onwards due to verification and other necessary formalities and considering other factors like arrangment of Government transport during this week.
Earlier, the government opened the application form for one-time financial assistance of Rs 10,000, only for the returnees form applicants from May 13 to May 16, 2020. A total of 4095 applications were received during this time period.
A total of 3086 persons have been paid Rs 10,000 each, amounting to Rs 3.8 crore in total, informed Nagaland Principal Secretary, Home, while briefing on COVID-19 status in the state on May 22, 2020.
